MR-ACA-350

Applications:

•    Open Molding
•    Closed Molding
•    Rotomolding
•    Rubber Molding

Product Description:
GruberCare MR ACA Polymer Release Agent is a general purpose semi-permanent mold release agent. GruberCare MR ACA is designed to release most thermosetting polymers (except isocyanate based polymers and silicones). GruberCare MR ACA is typically used to release composite materials - such as all types of epoxy, phenolic, polyester (GRP) or vinyl ester resins from steel, aluminum or composite molds. As with all products in the GruberCare MR series, once cured, GruberCare MR ACA gives many releases before a re-application is required. GruberCare MR ACA does not require a sealer on seasoned molds already using a polymer-based release system.

GruberCare MR ACA is an advanced polymeric resin in a non-chlorinated organic solvent blend. Using a blend of organic solvents enables the product to achieve a quick dry and cure at room temperature. GruberCare MR ACA is applied by a simple wipe-on technique; there is no need for rubbing or polishing. GruberCare MR ACA is durable and capable of giving many releases per application. It will not contaminate the released surface.

Note:
The polymeric resin used in GruberCare MR ACA reacts with moisture. Please ensure can is resealed after use. GruberCare MR ACA is supplied ready to use, no shaking or mixing is required. Do not mix with other products or solvents. For new, porous or damaged molds, GruberCare MR Sealer CA should be used prior to applying the GruberCare MR ACA.

Instructions for Use:
Please read Material Safety Data Sheet before use. If necessary, polish mold to desired level of gloss. If a wax or silicone based release agent has been used previously, remove all traces of previous product using an solvent based cleaner such as GruberCare MR Stripper CA.  GruberCare MR ACA can be applied over existing semi-permanent release agents without a further cleaning step. However, the mold should be clean and dry before use. Mold cleaning and release agent application should be performed in a well ventilated area.

  1. Apply GruberCare MR ACA to clean, dry cotton cloth.

  2. Wipe wet cloth over mold surface covering an area of approximately 0.5 m2. Vigorous rubbing or polishing is not required.

  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 on the adjacent area, frequently reapplying the product to the cloth. Ensure a good overlap with the previous area to provide complete coverage.

  4. Repeat until mold is completely coated.

  5. When dry, allow a further 15 minutes between coats for the film to cure.

  6. Repeat Steps 1-5 above for a further three coats (four in total).

  7. When dry, allow final film to cure for at least 30 minutes at room temperature before molding. Allowing a longer cure or heat curing (e.g. 15 min at 140°F / 60°C) will improve film durability.

Reapplication:
When release becomes hesitant, re-apply one coat of GruberCare MR ACA in the same manner as described above.
